events and services
Alongside the eclquest and ecl learning tools, we offer events and services to enable people to experience systemic ways of working in groups and one to one settings.
These resources for school leaders, teachers and parents offer focused learning and support for individuals and school teams who wish to develop their understanding of issues more deeply and/or simply want to explore the application of systemic working in an educational or home context.

Dissolving Barriers to Learning (DBL) intervention service
This service offers a unique way to help teachers and parents who are supporting children and young people with issues affecting their learning or development, particularly 'hard to reach' groups and those at risk of exclusion. It offers a forum for teachers and parents to see the inter-relationship of influential people and events, gain shared understanding and new insight, leading to resolution, improved focus and new ways forward.

Support a child at risk?
Services for schools
We offer services to schools as part of their school improvement initiatives and staff development process. ecl is showing particular benefits when used to target 'hard to reach' children and young people and when leading a school through a transition in culture.
Consulting, coaching and leadership facilitation
ecl specialists work alongside head teachers and senior professionals in schools helping to bring a systemic perspective to leadership issues, such as innovation and change in curriculum and pastoral structures and strategies. Systemic coaching is an invaluable source of support and innovation in dealing with a range of pressing leadership and professional issues
Research and innovation projects
We undertake active research and innovation projects in partnership with schools, local authority clusters and other specialist organisations to inquire into specific areas affecting learning. These projects are part of the wider living inquiry of our approach and they provide fresh insight for further innovation and the co-creation of ecl activities and tools.
Trainings & learning circles
We offer a range of learning sessions designed to inform and inspire parents and teachers as they explore and use the ecl learning tools, 4 hidden orders and 4 ways of knowing with their children.
Learning circles for school leaders
Seeing the bigger picture: leadership with a difference - Thurs 26 Feb 2008 - twilight session, (venue TBC)
Learning circles for teachers, SENCos and teaching assistants
Ready to learn: developing a mutual responsibility - Thurs 5 Mar 2008 - twilight session, (venue TBC)
Support a child at risk
The 'Dissolving Barriers to Learning' forum enables teachers and parents to explore the context - past events, patterns of behaviour and root causes - impacting upon a child or young person's capacity to learn. We have experienced remarkable results through this sensitive but tested method.
'At the workshop, as I began to speak about my son and daughter, there was a well of understanding and support from people in the room, and I was able to express my confusion and unhappiness quite openly. I realised it was time for clear and honest speaking, and for us to face the problems together as a family.' Mark, father from Bath
Previous UK government funding from the Department of Children, Schools and Families was awarded to explore this innovatory process and this has now come to an end. Many of the parents we work with struggle to meet the cost of a workshop place by themselves. We think it is important that access to the DBL process is not restricted to families who can afford to pay.
If you or your organisation can contribute to the cost of a place for a parent, and thereby support a child at risk, please contact Lucinda Leachman for further details. Thank you.
